Sell your PlayStation 2 games for cash.

The best-selling console ever made plenty of copies, and CT Picker is still buying them.

The PlayStation 2, briefly.

Sony’s second home console launched in Japan on March 4, 2000, and sold through its entire 1.4-million-unit initial shipment within weeks, doing more than $250 million in console, game, and accessory sales on day one alone, breaking the record the Sega Dreamcast had set just two years earlier. North America followed on October 26, 2000. Part of the demand came from outside gaming entirely: the PS2 doubled as a DVD player at a time when standalone players were still expensive, and it played the entire PS1 library out of the box.

That combination of built-in audience and backward compatibility let the library run deep fast. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Metal Gear Solid 2, God of War, Final Fantasy X, and Shadow of the Colossus all shipped in this era and still anchor "best of PS2" lists today. Lifetime sales topped 160 million units, making the PS2 the best-selling video game console of all time, across any generation.

With that many units and that many games sold, common PS2 software is genuinely everywhere and priced accordingly. The real value sits in the back half of the library: titles that launched late in the system’s life, competing for shelf space against the PS3’s debut, shipped in noticeably smaller numbers than the system-sellers, so "it’s a PS2 game" isn’t the same statement as "it’s a cheap PS2 game" once you’re looking at a late-cycle release.
